DISCHARGE IMPELLER/CHOPPER

BulletIf your machine is equipped with a discharge impeller, make sure you check the blades each season for wear.  Keep a square, sharp edge to the outside.  Worn edges reduce the aggressiveness of the impeller.  Use the serrated edge if possible, but keep in mind that there is an increased chance of wrappage in green-stemmed soybeans.

  1. BulletIf your machine is equipped with a straw chopper, you can replace stock chopper knives with sickle sections for better chopping action. (Right)

  2. Replace chopper concave knives with sharp sickle knives to chop tough straw better
